Red Line 50304 Manual Transmission MT 90W Gear Oil 1 Quart specifications:

Red Line 50304 Manual Transmission (MT) 90W Gear Oil – 1 Quart Description:
Red Line Oil MTL and MT 90 are intended to offer excellent protection and improved shiftability for manual transmissions and transaxles, having cured the problem of hard changing in thousands of transmissions with changing troubles. They have the proper coefficient of friction for most manual transmission synchronizers many gear oils, engine oils, and ATFs are too slippery for correct synchro engagement. And, the large viscosity of MTL and MT 90 let correct changing over the complete temperature range which the transmission will experience. The synthetic base oils used have a high viscosity index which gives comparatively constant viscosity as temperature changes. MTL is a low 70W at low temperatures and a high 80W, almost an 85W, at elevated temperatures, adequate viscosity to prevent wear and deaden gear sound. MT 90 is a thicker 75W90 variant of MTL. The shear stability and oxidation stability of these merchandise are excellent, the physical characteristics of Red Line MTL and MT 90 will change little with use.

I have had redline fluids in my cars since early 90’s. Newly I switched to royal purple, simple because the nearest redline dealer is a 50 mile round trip, while RP is at nearest NAPA.

I had transmission rebuilt by a dealer after 50k miles caused by grinding sound when changing into fifth. I had factory gear oil, changed to Royal purple at 30K miles when I start experiencing early warning signs of tranny issues. My last experience was that by put a better lubricant in, I was able to deal with early issues. Well royal Purple did not help and dealer after being a DEALER replaced the tranny. Well fast forward 67k miles. I just start experiencing early signs of grinding in fifth. Since Redline Line was in an same car for over 100k miles previous car, clearly the liquid has been changed at the proper intervals and not an issue with same transmission.

So got couple bottles price was three dollars less than somewhat local, no tax and no driving for 2+ hours in traffic to get two bottles.

The shift points became a tad more pronounce nearly notchy, but still smooth and NO GRINDING! So for my little Korean car the redline is a miracle liquid :

PS Not bad mouthing Royal purple, I just flushed rear end and transmission in other car. But seemingly Redline was/is/will be my best choice :
